Bio

Tommy Armstrong-Leavitt has over a decade of experience in music education. He is a graduate of G.I.T. and a professional performer and session player, having worked with Davey Johnstone (Elton John), Jeff Watson (Nightranger), and Jesse Bradmin (Eddie Money) just to name a few. As a student, he has studied with Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big), Frank Gambale (Chick Corea), and Jennifer Batten (Michael Jackson). Tommy has recorded in some of Hollywood's best studios and performed in several showcases for top industry executives. Tommy is also a member of the California Prison Arts Association. After coaching for nine years in Skip's Stairway to Stardom program, he is now the director of this award-winning summer music school. Tommy is also the author of the Strong Arm Instructional Series, used at many area high schools as well as Sacramento City and American River Colleges.

Method

Working with beginning and advanced students, Tommy utilizes weekly goals to reach long-term goals. Lessons are designed to fit the individual's time frame, maintaining an emphasis on fun with good practice time.
