Bio:
Darrell is a professional drummer with over 20 years of experience to draw from as a teacher. His focus on drum set studies began at age 16 in New York City with producer, studio owner, and drummer David Hale, where he received formalized instruction and recording experience. Since moving to Sacramento in 1986, Darrell has toured extensively and remained very involved in the Sacramento area music scene. He is currently the drummer for SAMMIE award winning artist Larisa Bryski, and has performed for many years as the drummer for the band Sedona. Darrell has also recorded and performed live with Bay Area educational music group Scientific Jam. Going Teaching at Skip’s Music since 2005, Darrell is committed to providing quality music education to drum students of all skill levels.

Method:

Upon determining a student’s goals and objectives for learning, Darrell teaches comprehensive lessons, balancing the physical and rudimentary aspects of playing with reading music and understanding basic music theory. A fun and positive learning environment is always the first priority.
