Bio
James loves drumming! He’s been playing for more than two decades and teaching for more than one. James performs regularly in a variety of settings: James is passionate about how vital original music and songwriting is. His honky tonk band, The Golden Cadillacs, is currently developing material for their second album. James currently performs and records with Heavenly Recordings artist Sea Of Bees. James has both major and indie label experience working with Deathray on Capricorn Records and Red Planet on Gearhead Records. The beginning of 2011 has seen James working in a new trio with the phenomenal guitarist Aaron King and electric bass wielding Nashville transplant Nate Mills Ph.D. James is becoming a familiar performer in the bay area playing regularly in Oakland at The Layover with multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Steve Taylor.

Method
James teaches each one of his students according to their particular needs and interests. His skill set runs deep with experience dealing with adults and children alike. James emphasizes good process and regular practice as keys to success learning and mastering the instrument. His curriculum developed over years of experience follows a logical progression helping students to build a lifelong foundation upon which to draw. Stylistically James has a broad palette, offering experience and expertise in many styles of music. James enjoys identifying the common elements among differing styles and tracing their musical, historical, and artistic origins to form and deep and thorough understanding. Most of all, James is still stoked to help others learn and grow.
