Bio
Jon began playing flute at age 8, drums at 13, guitar at 14 until the inescapable power and soul of the Bass got him at 15 and he has never been the same since.
Originally a rocker with love for the freeform and explosive sound of Jazz, the bass became a way for Jon to discover his love of rhythm in Funk and Soul flavored musical styles. Spending his teenage years in Dallas and Austin, TX Jon developed his skills through improvisational music and unorthodox band structures, and has brought elements of Funk, Jazz, Rock, Metal, Hip-Hop and Punk together with various unique and percussive hand styles. Jon believes in the individuality and purity of playing; music is only true when it comes straight from the source – the musician creating it.

Currently playing with the Sacramento based Absent Me, he has been heard on ‘Loved like a milkshake – a tribute to Wesley Willis’, Sac Rocks VOL X, and 98Rocks Local Licks.

Method
Practice doesn’t make perfect, PERFECT practice makes Perfect. Rudimentary exercises with attention on precision leading up to the level the student wants to be playing on. Learning laws of theory and the role of the instrument to allow for controlled experimental growth.
